Yeah I think so. Some that I’ve looked at say academy and the rest are just regular primary schools. I don’t even know if one even would be better than the other tbh because I’m guessing they are run differently. Just wondering what people’s experiences have been like. Thanks for your reply x
I don't think it makes much difference tbh! My eldest is at an academy and he's just started reception. It's the way I remember it from being at primary school myself!
Are you within the catchment area for the academy? We visited one and it had a huge long waiting list as very popular. If we’d got a place my son would have been part time until October half term. Also some seem to have different holiday dates. One in our area follows Norfolk whereas we live in Suffolk.
Thanks everyone, I’ve made the application now. All academies, so we’ll see how it goes 🤣
Do you mean schools that’s are part of an academy trust versus those that aren’t? If that’s the question then I would just say go with the school that’s your catchment and you like best regardless of being an academy or not. With my eldest he started at an independent primary school but it became part of an academy trust and the same thing has happened with his senior school, I believe it’s all to do with funding. But nothing has really changed for us with being an academy or not x
