40w + Membrane Sweep

I’m 40 weeks today and was 1.5cm dilated and 50% effaced, asked my OB to do a membrane sweep at my check up and she said she got me to 2cm and to expect cramping, brown or red spotting and some back ache. My belly has been cramping non stop since I got home at 1pm, kind of like one big constant cramp and Braxton Hi...

Hello, has anyone ended up having a 6 week appointment with their doctor to get the all clear following their c section? I see a lot of things saying that we can do things again once we get okay from doctor (e.g some postnatal exercise classes, driving etc) but my doctor doesn't seem to want to do any check up. Is ...

Waters breaking?

With our due dates coming up so fast now, as a ftm, I need to know how I will know my water has broken? So many people have said different things. Is it just a case that you know? Or will you be left guessing that you have wet yourself?

Hello! I’m 26wks pregnant with my first Bebe and want to make sure that I can prepare as much as possible in advance. I started planning my hospital bag but there is so much info on what to include etc. I was wondering if anyone packed things they didn’t really use or missed anything they would’ve liked to have, etc...

I know everyone has their own opinions on this topic so please no judgement. I am having a boy this time around and originally decided to circumcise my son. I did a lot of research and talking it over with my partner and we decided that’s what was best. Today I had an appointment with one of the midwives at my pract...

38 week induction 😬

My doctor just recommended inducing at 38 weeks. It’s so hard wrapping my brain around going to the hospital to start the process on Sunday night! I feel like there is so much to do.

TTC

We're trying for baby 2 (baby 1 was an unexpected) and this is now our third month of trying. I know this is a random Q but I've never had to "try" before so want to make sure I'm maximising our chances. After intercourse, I'm finding that some sperm/liquid is leaking between my thighs after pulling out and then i g...

Is anyone else’s stomach slightly sore when standing up / moving about 8 weeks after their c section? It’s hard to pinpoint where I can feel it but I think it’s just above the incision xx

Elective c-section booked post 40 weeks, has this happened to you?

I feel really misled and deflated about my elective c-section, had a previous trauma with a pregnancy loss and wanted a planned controlled situation this time. Booking c section has been really delayed as I was told there’s no space at the moment, and today have found out it has been scheduled for next week, 3 days ...

Partners staying for inductions

If you had an induction, did the midwives suggest a good time for the birthing partner’s to go home and rest before the main event? I’m anticipating it could be days and I’d much rather my partner go home and rest when there isn’t much happening than watch him pace the room or sit fidgeting because he’s nervous whic...

Just curious. I’m 38 weeks and was advised to harvest colostrum from 37 weeks by my midwife. At first it was quite thick and very yellow. Now it’s clear and watery with a yellowish tint. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Spontaneous labour

If you had to be induced for your first pregnancy but was able to have a spontaneous labour the second time around at what week did that happen for you? Was it on or close to the week you were induced? Much longer? Before the week you were induced? I'm nervous on what to expect this time around. I am so grateful t...

C Section wound

Today is day 5 after c section and I’ve had the dressing taken off earlier. It felt okay with the dressing on but now they’ve taken it off it’s really tender and painful when moving. Has anyone else found this? Is there anything I can do to help other than taking painkillers?
