Induction prep

Getting induced tomorrow morning. What should I eat before? Anyone do anything specific to prepare for their induction?

Waters

Might be a stupid question but can you get little trickles of your waters? Like I’m expecting this big movie type gush 😂 Just got off my ball to go to bed and I’m wet, (thought maybe sweat , gross) but it’s a bit more than sweat but not enough to have me notice it was water if you get me? 😂

Staying calm during c section

Hi everyone, I had an emergency section with my daughter 3 years ago and my blood pressure went haywire/suffered a haemorrhage and it just wasn’t a nice experience. However! This was after being induced and labouring for 12 hours. I’ve heard elective sections are worlds apart, but I can’t help worrying that once t...

Hospital stay

I'm starting to feel some anxiety as I near to my third trimester around the overnight stay in hospital after the C-section where you are alone with your baby as the husband can't stay! How do you do it?!? What if I can barely move? From what I have experienced in hospitals over the past few years I fear there isn't...

Feeling of failure

I had my baby girl 3 weeks ago via emergency c section after my body over reacted to the induction gel. I was in active labour for 9 hours with back to back contractions but my cervix wouldn’t dilate. Her heart rate dropped and she got distressed and she wasn’t getting any oxygen so they had to cat 1 me and get her ...

Latent phase of labour

Hey girls I went to hospital yesterday as was having contractions. They checked me out said my cervix isn’t open but it’s very soft, they took bloods and urine as thought it could be infection, they were discharging me today but last minute asked if I can stay overnight again. (I have a growth scan tomorrow and they...

Running after c section

I was a regular runner before pregnancy and ran until roughly 27 weeks (although mostly run/walk by then). I know every recovery is different but just been looking at some races next year and intrigued when people started running again post c section.

Mucus plug/early labour?

Hi guys, I am just wondering if any of you had period type pains after you have passed your mucus plug? I feel really just exhausted!! I’m 38 weeks tomorrow. I know it could also be a while though before labour starts.

I’m in labour

So I’m in labour, started having contractions at about midnight, first off they were every half an hour or so up until about 9am this morning then they became more regular and since about 10:30 it’s been every 5/10 minutes. Sometimes they’re every 5 then they slow down a bit and they become every 10 minutes but so s...

For those that have had a vaginal delivery and elective c-section, tell me the differences in recovery.

Important note: this is for *scheduled* c-sections only. I know that emergency c-sections are generally a whole different ball game. Backstory: I had a vaginal delivery with my first 4 years ago. I am now 34w4d and my baby is still breech. I feel his kicks verrry far down in my pelvis and despite me doing spinning...

Sex

How long did it take for you to get wet like you used to? Finally had sex last night and am very surprised it didn’t hurt finally but I definitely am a lot less wet now. It also doesn’t feel the same as it used to, definitely feels like more “loose” in the sense I don’t feel pressure in all of my walls like I used t...

Help 😢 what’s too much discharge?

FTM and this just does not seem right. I’m 39 +4. Yesterday morning, fluid running down my legs when I woke up, “ran” more waddled to the toilet and I was leaking water type fluid. Went to hospital convinced my waters broke for the midwife to tell me it’s discharge. She did a swob and said it’s discharge and even p...

Planned C section instead of induction

As we near the end, I’ve been contemplating options if baby doesn’t come around 41 weeks (and my body doesn’t seem to have a “favourable” cervix as they say) as I am very scared of an induction and don’t want to end up in an emergency C section. I don’t have a medical condition. Did anyone previously agree to take...

Any advice for irregular contraction’s?

I had contractions from 9pm last night till early this morning. Slept thru most of it. Roughly 10 mins apart. Then disappeared. They restarted again later this morning after a walk and then this afternoon they’re 2/3 mins apart but then the odd one is 10 mins or more apart. Never had this with my first child. Is t...
